A major new study published today by a panel of Democrats and Republicans ranks states by quality of life. The states at the top aren't the richest, and they don't have the highest tax rates -- although they do seem to do an unusually good job executing policy and sharing the wealth that they create. Often they have opposition parties strong enough to keep ruling parties nervous and effective.
To see which state ranks No. 1 and how your state ranks (slight tease!), here's a gift link: https://t.co/JfjLMfcGDk

It was a privilege to be at @NorthwesternMN in Minnesota today and speak to the students and faculty in chapel. My father @BillyGraham served as the second president of this school from 1948-1952, when it was Northwestern College, and starting when he was only 29 years old! It was great to see more of the history of this Christian university and how God is using it in the lives of students today. I enjoyed spending time with the president, Dr. Corbin Hoornbeek, his wife Heather, and meeting many on the faculty leadership team. Dr. Hoornbeek is doing an incredible job, and I appreciate that the school is centered on God’s Word! #UNWavering
@BenSasse is not only a gift to American history, but perhaps more importantly--even in his limited and decreasing physical state--to our country's future. I view this (golden) hour as Sen. Sasse's version of his last lecture, with an assist to @p_m_robinson. Watch every minute!
In December 2025, former US Senator @BenSasse announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That's the primary topic for this @UncKnowledge conversation about mortality, faith, and what truly matters when time is short.
Talking to host @P_M_Robinson, Sasse reflects on "redeeming the time"—holding ambition lightly, loving family more deliberately, and resisting the urge to make politics or professional success the center of life.
The discussion also covers Sasse's thoughts on the failures of Congress; the dangers of a fragmented, attention-starved republic; the crisis of higher education; and the moral challenges of technological abundance.
He speaks candidly and movingly about regret, forgiveness, prayer, and suffering—arguing that while death is a real enemy, it does not get the final word. Watch the full conversation on X:
James Van Der Beek, star of ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ died after a long battle with colorectal cancer. He was 48. This is a video he made telling people about his struggles and what cancer taught him. May he Rest in Peace 🕊️ .
Joe Burrow’s presser today felt very reflective — and at times, a bit dark:
"If I want to keep doing this, I have to have fun doing it. I have been through a lot. If it's not fun, then what am I doing it for?"
Later on: "There's just a lot of things going on right now."

For my Twin Cities friends who are caught up in the #Waymo news that is circulating the local press this week, here’s a view of my experience inside the vehicle from Phoenix, circa June 2024. Once you get past the fascination, it’s a safe, comfortable ride. 😵😵
Before today, I vaguely knew who @SpencerJCox was, really in name only. After watching this @60Minutes profile, I am impressed. Thank you for placing people above politics, Governor. https://t.co/gDUBsftt9j
From social media trolling to very public firings – everyone has an opinion on Lane Kiffin. He's got one, too. @E60’s The Many Lives of Lane Kiffin' premieres September 24 at 7 PM ET on @ESPN, streaming after on the ESPN App.
Erika Kirk: "My husband Charlie he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life...On the cross, our savior said, 'Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do.' That young man. I forgive him."
Former VP @Mike_Pence: "The First Amendment though does not protect entertainers who say crass or thoughtless things as Jimmy Kimmel did in the wake of a national tragedy...I would have preferred that the chairman of the FCC had not weighed in."
Charlie Kirk's assassination was devastating, as were the murders of Melissa and Mark Hortman, the children at Annunciation, and the ongoing political violence in the US. I appreciate the proactive leadership & challenge from Drs. Hoornbeek & Rivera. Read: https://t.co/cVQj3QheNz
