By far the best (non political) commentary on the catastrophic Los Angeles fires has been this one by @dateline_keith for @DatelineNBC
Keith Morrison is one of the last remaining pros in TV news…
Oops, snow came down again
It messed with our hearts, swirled down
Oh snow, snow
Oops, you think we like you
That you're a gift from the sky
You are not so innocent.
Last one probably with weather heading out:
I think the snow fell again.
It made us believe we're over the piles
Of snowflakes
It might seem like a mess
But it doesn't mean that it's done just yet
‘Cause to lose all sanity
This is just not so fun any more
Oh snow, snow /1
Don’t go closin’ school
Snow stick to the grass but not the street to freeze
I know that you’re gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you decide either way
So we out
Thanks, TLC
*One of my students like to sing Waterfalls in class so chose the chorus this time.
Well, now they know.
Let it snow, let it snow.
Can’t stop it anymore.
Stay inside and watch the shows.
I don’t care what the forecasters will say.
Let the snow fall down.
The cold never bothered me anyway.
-Thanks Frozen
The snow falls down in Kansas City tonight.
Not a plow to be seen
And it looks like snow piles persist.
The wind is blowing with this snowstorm outside.
Don’t let the snow stay, don’t let snow freeze. /1
Four snow days (3 being virtual learning), these lyrics keep playing in my head : “…I’’m telling you…we are never ever, ever getting back together….we are never ever, ever, ever getting back together…like ever…”
First, we broke up for two weeks of winter break. As the break is ending, the ice and blizzard decide to show up to say not enough. Then the treacherous roads have the last note to have friends deciding for school or not. /1
@CameronSharonE’s book The Light in Hidden Places was excellent! I was surprised to learn this is about real heroines risking everything to help save 13 lives. Thanks for sharing this memorable and hidden story.
She also encourages you to share your own stories. We all have own stories to share whether or not we realize because we have more in common than we think.

Speaking with your favorite author is the best birthday present ever!
@RutaSepetys has a unique talent to share the hidden stories throughout history by thoroughly researching and developing relatable characters.
If you have not read any of her books, you should.
There's a fountain in Budapest that looks like a book: every few seconds a sheet of water blasts forth from the book's spine, creating the illusion that an invisible force is turning the pages of this marble tome.
Thanks to @PWKidsBookshelf for the article and reveal of the new middle grade book I co-wrote with @SteveSheinkin. History and mystery, set during the Battle of Britain @bletchleypark! Coming in October. Details: https://t.co/ze6ZvLkebB
