A Spaniard told me that the Anglo-Saxon habit of referring to "Jesus" in an offhand manner, rather than as Jesus Christ or our Lord, is as disrespectful as referring to the King as "Charles".
He's right - on both counts.
@jdflynn My son is 7, finishing up the second grade, and preparing to make his First Holy Communion this Sunday. I am dreading the eventual end of these beautiful years of innocence.
Italian Bishop’s Call to Evangelize Muslims Wins Support From Converts’ Network | National Catholic Register
The St. Nicholas Tavelic Network backs his emphasis on charity and respect in proclaiming the Gospel to Muslims and the necessity of a visible Christian identity.

@Truth_matters20 Yet another ignorant statement.
Without Christ, Mary means nothing.
For Catholics, it's all about Christ, regardless of what Protestants say.
Corpus Christi Procession in St. Peter's Square with Pope Pius XII, in the Holy Year of 1950. Also in procession is the Corporal of Bolsena, which contains the blood of a Consecrated Host, which bled when a priest doubted the doctrine of Transubstantiation in 1263.

@PaulinusOfTrier@LifeSite Which position, specifically?
That the SSPX is canonically irregular? That it lacks an ordinary canonical mission? That episcopal consecrations without papal authorization are a serious matter?
Those are not my positions. They are the Holy See's.
@PaulinusOfTrier@LifeSite Rhetorically clever, but it avoids my point.
Accusing me of contempt for the Papacy is a curious response. It is precisely because I take the Papacy seriously that I take seriously the SSPX's irregular status and the exercise of ministry without a canonical mission.
@PaulinusOfTrier@LifeSite The SSPX operates outside any official canonical structure. They have chapels, not parishes. They have bishops, but no dioceses, etc., and their bishops answer to no one. They are a church unto themselves.
@Catholic_bro I don't know about that. Bl. John Paul I only reigned for a month, St Paul VI no doubt had good intentions, only God knows Pope Francis' true intentions, and Pope Leo XIV has only been reigning for a year...
