humans are not ready to be fully responsible for their own money
the big promise of crypto was: self-custody, you are in control of your own money, no reliance on banks, censorship resistent money
but the real question is: are these ideological features of crypto worth the added responsibility of taking care of your own money?
in my view, the answer is NO
i love having my money with a bank. sometimes it is annoying which is why i always have a few wallets with a few mil that i can use, but i DO NOT WANT self custody over 100% of my assets, at most like 30%
the rest of my money should be with highly regulated, professional institutions that specialise in custody and trading. you are at constant risk of being hacked and having your money stolen if you are in crypto, every telegram message, every pdf, every zoom call is an attack vector and it is not feasible for the vast majority of society to live a life where you need to personally safeguard your assets
my setup:
70% of my money with trusted institutions, not something like a huobi or mexc, but literally a regulated bank that existed for centuries
30% of my money in crypto so that i can pay people fast, seize onchain opportunities, etc
@crypto_linn@StaticsProtocol bro im just clicking j - k and this so ass like i wanted to reply (r) to another post with congrats but here we are
