@burg21@Jasperc53 I think this is a case of Australians refusing to acknowledge that perhaps their common saying is rooted in subtle racism. I say this as an Australian, and I’ve literally never heard this saying used before.
@emdrmtv But wasn’t it pretty normal for him to only stream once or twice a month at that time anyway. Like he streamed the normal amount and still donated a lot
@retr0_robbin@FinnyTheAce If they aren’t registered for GST with the ATO then they can’t charge GST. They have done the wrong thing with the currency, but are probably correct in the GST situation
@drmatthislop As someone who had unprovoked bilateral PEs when young and fit, I am sending him lots of positive thoughts. I was also on warfarin for over 6 months and it’s a miserable time, but better than the alternative :) wishing him all the best

@HenrySYArt@ToonHive He paid them severance. Payment in leiu of notice means he paid them so they are not just instantly cut off. This gives them time to find a job fast. Getting laid off still sucks, but he’s tried to do it properly
@Kandra_08@theodd1sout The thing is, no matter how nice you try to be, it is always going to suck for the person being let go. Even though he spoke to everyone, I’m sure it was a surprise to them.
@Christie_Whelan I read a theory speculating that this is a calculated way to leave radio before their contracts are up in order to enter the now lucrative podcasting space. Not sure but it’s always possible
