America has never been a democracy. The Founders considered democracy to be mob rule. They were terrified of what was at the time called “levelling”, or enforced equality of rich and poor. The Quakers were in this tradition as well, they were widely seen as working for the British. There was no Marxism then, but there were various egalitarian movements in England that took inspiration from the Bible that arose in response to the ongoing theft of the commons. Democratic rights were tied to property. These were men of property, and every document that wrote was in the service of their defense of it. If you were a white male and did not own land, you were considered too irresponsible and stupid to vote and participate in government, and prone to leveling desires, and lust for their property. They did not rebel to empower Irish and Germans fresh off the boat, they rebelled because they saw the British system as a brake on the advancement of their class. The idea of women, Indigenous, and Africans participating in government was at the time as ludicrous as dogs participating.

Undocumented people do not get any resources from the United States government. They avoid contact with authorities because they will be arrested, tortured, and deported.

Certain employers prefer to use undocumented people because they are not union, and thus are cheap. This is the fault of the capitalists, not the people they exploit.
