Xavi: Clearing the ball is an intellectual defeat: Can I not do anything else? When you recover the ball & lose it, you give possession to the opponent. Find spaces, pass to the GK, dribble, get a throw-in by shooting the ball on the player. Do something but do not kick it out!⚽️

@TexasCoachMike When I first get a group sometimes I’ll play in situations where I know we’ll probably win bc I’m trying to get them to play a certain way. Once they start to get it, putting them under more pressure by playing up or higher division makes sense

If we want soccer development to improve in the US 🇺🇸 we must stop idolizing athleticism over technique.

Of course the best players in the World have both, but athletic gap is far smaller than technical gap.

Technique 1st, athleticism 2nd… especially at the youth level.
