Aalto starts a furniture company Artek. Shigeru Ban designs an exhibit for the furniture where he first tests out the possibility of paper tubes. Years later, Ban designs a temporary pavilion for Artek using fibrous plastic material. It took 7 days to build, 5 days to use, and 5 days to deconstruct.

HS2 not serving north is a total betrayal of its people and cities. Nothing compares to it as a monumental fuck up
Whether speed, capacity or both, something is needed. We will instead be fobbed off with inevitable ‘northern powerhouse’ rhetoric 🐍
I don't often say this but well done Jeremy Hunt.
We can already get from London to Manchester in 30 minutes even without HS2.
A modern society needs more flights not fewer.
Well done to all our team on this - such amazing news and a great night. This marks start of the project rather than the end!

It’s fantastic to see how #theoffbeatsari is being received and interpreted, particular by the South Asian diaspora. This piece by @billiebhatia in @BritishVogue seems to sum up the prevailing take - historic yet contemporary, ubiquitous yet personal

#DesignOfTheWeek | Encircled by rings of Saturn, this red carpet showstopper worn by Natasha Poonawalla, was the first sari to have ever been worn at the Met Gala.

Last night was the PV for The Offbeat Sari at @DesignMuseum . Curated by @Hiyapriya and designed by us @studio_mutt , the exhibition is an examination of how the sari is being reclaimed to become a mode of self-expression and a site of radical protest. Opens Friday!
Yesterday was awful. We lost our best friend, Louis, to a sudden and unexpected illness. He held on just long enough for us to say goodbye, but at least he’s not suffering anymore now. 6 years isn’t enough. Miss you mate
