Characteristics:

✅ Anyone can run a node

✅ Anyone can verify blocks and transactions

✅ Anyone can access RPC endpoints

✅ Independent explorers can be built by third parties

✅ Data is publicly accessible

✅ Users don’t need permission from the project team

The philosophy is:

“Don’t trust us. Verify it yourself.”

For example, with Bitcoin, thousands of independent nodes worldwide verify every block. Nobody needs Bitcoin’s creator or any company to confirm balances.

Private Layer 1 Blockchain

Characteristics:

✅ Blockchain exists

✅ Blocks may be produced

❌ Access may be restricted

❌ Nodes may be controlled by the project team

❌ Explorer may only work inside the project’s app

❌ Public RPC may not be available

❌ Independent verification may be difficult

Users must rely more on information provided by the project itself.
