80 year ago today my father, then Corporal Donald Falconer in The KRRR was serving near Forli in northwest Italy not far from Ravenna. It was his 24th birthday and he was on duty, but between 01.00&02.00 that morning a shell, probably from a German 88 gun, exploded near him.1/3

Unacceptable violence.

We’ve been covering settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank for years.

But yesterday, we found ourselves on the menu.

A group of masked settlers beat our team and pummelled the 51 year old woman we were interviewing unconscious.

We’re all ok now - and Aida is out of the hospital - but this is just one incident among an unprecedented surge in settler violence across the West Bank.

@CricinsightsX I don't know any details about the injuries mentioned here, but don't injured batters get a runner in county cricket, but not in Test matches? If that's correct I doubt Imam-ul-Haq would have achieved much had he gone into bat (except, perhaps, aggravating his injury).

Jenrick’s latest response to any criticism of his policy is “So what, they’re foreigners”. That’s where we’re at. It’s neither small “c” Conservative nor big, it’s fundamentally un-British and it’s nakedly far-right. He himself is married to a foreigner and Farage was too and he’s with a French woman now. First it was the EU.
Farage said Europe was the problem.

Then it was the ECHR.
They said human rights were the problem.

Then it was refugees.
They said refugees were the problem.

Then it was foreigners.
They said foreigners were the problem.

Then it was disabled people.
They said they were the problem.

And each time, Britain was promised that once they were dealt with, everything would be better.

But Britain didn’t get better.

Farage simply found someone else to blame.

So when Nigel Farage points at the next group, don’t just ask whether you’re one of them.

Ask:

WHO WILL HE BLAME NEXT?

@HJMKent Being a bit of a pedant I'd like to point out that private companies cannot issue fines...so (whatever it says & however it is worded) it's actually a 'parking charge notice', and are not enforceable in the criminal courts (but could lead to civil action).
