Señora Maria Estela Rinconeño Parra has been crafting banners for the Chicago Bulls since 1989 🇲🇽
Her latest work, D-Rose’s jersey retirement banner, will be raised to the rafters tonight
Sister Jean was often asked if it was okay to pray for the team to win. She said of course! But if we lose we have to be good sports. Love this moment with her and Jordan Poole after Michigan beat the Ramblers at the Final Four.
Sister Jean was a role model in Illinois — inspiring us to embrace our neighbors.
As a lover of life, she taught us to channel positivity to keep us hopeful in times of need and kept that attitude all the way to a life well-lived at 106 years old.
May her memory be a blessing.
We're deeply saddened by Sister Jean's passing. She was loved by Cubs fans and all who knew her. Our thoughts are with the Loyola community and everyone touched by this loss. 💙
March Madness won’t be the same without Sister Jean. Thinking about the Loyola University Chicago community and everyone who loved this remarkable woman. https://t.co/9O09E9zdMA
