Dan Aykroyd's dancing is epic, insane and beyond amazing. 45+ years later it is still over the top enjoyable. And the sheer amount of talent on that small stage is staggering.
The Blues Brothers (John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd) perform “Soul Man.” [Season 4, 1978]
50 years ago tonight, October 2, 1976, Joe Cocker was the musical guest on NBC’s 'Saturday Night Live', where he performed 'Feelin' Alright?' with his nemesis impersonator, John Belushi.
"Our old gelding went blind in March and the goose has walked him to water every day since. She gets her body against his shoulder and steers him with it. When there's something in the way she stops and plants herself and he stops too. Then she taps the side of the tank so he knows where it is. Nobody taught her any of that.
I about died laughing. Good one!.
A True Story .... Carnation Milk
When opening a can of carnation evaporated milk for your recipes just smile and think of this:
A little old lady from North Carolina had worked in and around her family’s dairy farm since she was old enough to walk, with hours of hard work and little compensation…
So when canned Carnation Milk became available in grocery stores, she read an advertisement offering $5000 for the best slogan/rhyme beginning with “Carnation milk is best of all ....”
She said to herself “ I know all about milking cows and dairy farms… I can do this!”
She sent in her entry, and about a week later, a black limo drove up in front of her house… A man got out and said, “Carnation LOVED your entry so much, we are here to award you $1000, even though we WILL NOT Be able to use it...

A hallway outside the ICU, midnight, and a father knelt right there on the tile floor — not caring who saw him — because his six-year-old had a 20% chance of surviving the night, and he'd run out of anything else to offer.
He didn't pray for a miracle in polished words. He just kept repeating, "Please, God. Please, God. Please." Over and over, for almost an hour, until a nurse gently helped him back into a chair.
At 3 AM, the surgeon came out with numbers that made no medical sense to her — the swelling had reversed faster than anything she'd documented in twenty years of practice. She used the word "inexplicable" twice in the same sentence.
The father doesn't call it inexplicable. He calls it the only prayer he's ever prayed with his whole body, not just his words — and he says God met him exactly there, on that floor, before the answer ever came.
