@jwjackson315@nateinthewild Yeah, I think that's reasonable. In this case we know that increased temps means less oxygen, and we get increased temps directly from climate change, so I think it's ok to say it was a contributing factor. That kind of nuance can be hard to communicate though, it's a tough one
@nateinthewild@jwjackson315 Yeah, I worry about climate change denial going unchallenged though - not just for Jake but for other readers. I wish climate change wasn't real, but all evidence supports it, which sucks. As Jake says, he wants to believe things are ok and that this is hyperbole
@tastapod For sure, it's just that PRs are convenient for that. Also can I say, I am a huge fan of your work, you've been a huge influence on me. Thanks for sharing your insights and wisdom over the years :)
@tastapod I like that my teams do PRs not bc I think we'll find bugs but bc 1) it gives everyone a chance to see what other devs are doing and 2) it contributes to a "the code" mindset rather than a "my code" mindset
@shaun_vids I was thinking about this the other day as well, when I think of masculinity I think of courage and facing adversity with strength of will - but is that really gendered? It's a tough question
@KhaosTh30ry @rlycalm@elonmusk Am a manager, if people who report to me had criticism a) I am more than happy to hear it, constructive feedback is how we improve, b) if they feel they have to say it publicly then I'd want to know why the channels I have set up aren't working
