A professor at Harvard walked into his classroom holding a fresh hot Hamburger. He asked to the class, "who among you would say that this famous sandwich constitutes an Unhealthy dinner?" the students laughed nervously, and every student put up their hands in agreement,
@Kairo_Anatomika unfortunately you cant really breed them to have such vibrant colors in the pictures, the ones on the right naturally look like that and the ones on the left are fake
there are some inverts that are bred for size, isopods grow through their life though so its much harder there
@Kairo_Anatomika > sunlight can quickly kill them
> they can eat about two-thirds their weight in worms & bugs each day
> newly captured moles generally die the first day both of terror & from going hours without food
makes you wonder how they survive in the wild at all really

i recommend reading this its really weird how much of a neurotic mess they are, i doubt anyone sane would want to keep something like this though i would love to see a zoo with them
@cmkosemen strongly recommend reading into them, they're pretty damn weird for a scarab (for example they lost the sexual dimorphism and all sexes fight each other for some reason)
@crabspromenade That's very surprising, I never heard of females being less avaliable for a crab, do they have less colors or are they confirmed to breed in captivity so sellers withhold females?
@Slopmoding ah, surprising
i would recommend searching during winter since they hibernate in small groups like centipedes but if they're everywhere year round i assume your population doesnt hibernate
@Slopmoding yeah quite a lot, both with and without pitfall traps
mostly just coriaceus but also some c. germarii exasperatus and c. ulrichii
idk if you're getting the same horribly large amount of rain middle europe is getting rn but if you do go out in the evening
@theoctopuslady Parazens usually have massive fins like that, the related john dories also have similar massive fins especially as babies
Zeiformes is a very silly looking group I love reading up on them
@ImperfectFunGuy@ChenxinLi2 do you have any idea as to why the growth is so neat and radially symmetric?
i am so glad this mystery is solved but the odd shape of the growth is still bothering me
@Trey_Explainer thats crazy what type of clothing did chicks wear in the old days wouldnt that be funny if you put chicks clothing on LOL and posted a video LMAOOOOOO im curious though historically mainly that would be good content you should consider doing it historically also it would be funny
