@BaptistNetwork Love one another as He loves us so the world will know we are His disciples.
It’s through edification or the building up of one another that we achieve this.
@toddgray4 Just silliness.
Where is that biblical? Why is one guy giving weekly Ted talks to a group of attendees.
The more you all bloviate, the harder it is making it for the rest of us that are in the highways and byways doing what we’re actually called to do. Make disciples!
@WalkerWildmon Bishop🤔
You are talking about elder/overseer, which is Presbuteros and Episkopos
Those are not the same as the APEST given in Ephesians 4.
Yes, male only Presbuteros and Episkopos.
APEST, I think not.
@piratechristian What church do you “attend”?! Under the western model of monologistic “services”, absolutely everyone except the guy at the ‘pulpit’ is in submission and is forbade to speak.
@kevinmyoung Can’t find any instructions for giving monologues from ‘pulpits’ in the NT.
Preaching the gospel to the lost world, YES!
Dialogue of teaching and the use of spiritual gifts when we assemble, for the purpose of building each other up, YES! It’s where we see growth.
@jonbenz Disciples of Christ, pray for one other. Love one another. Lift up one another. Be devoted to one another. Honor one another. Accept one another. Serve one another. Teach one another. Encourage one another.
Roughly 59 one another’s used over 100 times.
@EthanJago3 I’m sure all of it will yield many new redemptive relationships, new disciples and new gatherings of the saints.
Seems like what we witnessed at convention was uplifting and full of love and encouragement 🙄
@BaptistLeaders More false constructs. So tiresome.
Hope all that money spent on facility, travel for ‘messengers’ food & lodging, maybe even vacationing was worth it.
@Protestia You all have lost touch with reality.
Lost world out here that needs Christ. It’s an abomination what you’re doing. Pharisee’s come to mind.
We are called to make disciples. Not have monologues. Not have conventions.
Love one another and make disciples!
@Jason_Gray@albertmohler Jesus said I command you to love one another as I have loved you, so the world will know you are my disciples.
The entirety of your convention has been rather disgusting. Do what you will, as for me and my house, we will continue making disciples who make disciples.
@bobsmietana Paul mentions nothing about preaching to the masses in 1Corinthians 14:26
He does put that responsibility on everyone that assembles together.
Let her preach the gospel of the kingdom on a Thursday at the local coffee shop! Or pizza shop!
Is that acceptable?!
@inkofreality My question, who are you discipling? Are you building redemptive relationships with lost people? And if you are discipling someone who are they discipling and what does that look like? What are the pathways? Who are you teaching these pathways to? Etc etc
