How I was born ✨ ⭐️

How did I create an app at 21 yrs old with 0 tech knowledge, and a budget? Here’s what I did (after lots of failing, YouTube help, & research)

- sketched out my idea on paper, had fun coloring all the little features. 🖌️

- learned how to use figma and created a rough outline of the app screens & connected them (very very bad designs but the gist was there)🎨

- wrote a long software requirements specification with all the features and API’s (I used snapchats as a reference, how I WISH chatGPT existed back then)📝

- posted a job for a mobile app designer on Upwork (I used my rough figma sketch as an outline which made it cheaper and easier for the designer) 📄

- posted a job listing for a front end developer & backend developer on Upwork🧑‍💻

- set up resources like Trello, Bitbucket, Slack, AWS & added the new devs.🛠️

- created Upwork milestones (had to fire and rehire a few times, it’s hard to find a good backend dev!)📝

- managed the devs through rough and bumpy times for 4 months 📅

- finally launched to the App Store!!!🎉📲

This is a super simple version of the reality but it covers the main steps that I took. I think if you are a non tech founder this is the most efficient and cost effective way! I got the entire app on the App Store for around $6500, for a whole app with around 25 pages! Now we have lots of active users and we are really taking off! 🚀📲
