@ogundamisi Not every initiative will appeal to everyone, but many women could genuinely benefit. Lagos shows how small ventures can become real income — think of that Lekki akara stand with queues every morning. Let’s not dismiss efforts that might change someone else’s life.
@Tunde_OD It is a whole lot in a short but great read. Wish it doesn't only well up emotions but spur you & I to do better from our corners. The world indeed needs more sacrifices of those who life has favored. Leave the common denominator - hardwork vs laziness - just do something.
@renoomokri I knew of Savannah Bank as far back as 1981-82 when I joined Gulf Oil (later became Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc.) It was somewhere around Broad Street, Lagos and Tinubu Square.
@SaharaReporters A typical "gbámilétí kíndolówó" scenario. At least someone can make some cool, legit money from "Mr. I am a Senator!" after receiving 3 dirty slaps and being thrown behind police counter for several hours for no just cause. It is all good in this period of severe austerity. 😀
@EmmyPromise71 Problem with hate & hate speeches is it sets people against people, many of whom end up becoming innocent victims of the backlash. I wish those who lead should do all in their power to discourage such negative, retrogressive attitudes. Many larger nations are coping. Why not us!
@YorubaIseseTv This is common to some other older religions, namely Judaism, see https://t.co/Nx9ZcjAFJg. The point is we may just be interpreting God differently. God is still God.
@UberNigeria, I had two trips on Uber in Lagos on Saturday 14 Sept, 2024, the first from Okota to Mile 2 and the other from Mile 2 to Ikeja. For whatever reason unknown to me, Uber charged twice on each trip. Just checked my bank statement to notice the unusual deductions. Why?
@NoNonsensezone Everyone knows it is a few rotten apples that spoils the whole. Criminals are not defined by tribes, just happen to be warped minds amongst the rest. Sad part is that they will always be a bad stain on our white. We're still carrying it & the earlier we wash it off the better.
@CenterPoint My subdivision Marlboro Townhomes on 600 Wilcrest Dr., Houston got power restored for about 16 hours on Monday before it shut back down and we've been without light for more 56 hours now.
@CenterPoint May be easier if you can put in place a better system that would enable feedback at the level of your transformers. Many areas already energized or enabled still suffer outage, perhaps, due to transformers and/or switches that may only need resetting, not major repair works.
It then can go like this:
NIGERIA WE HAIL THEE
OUR OWN DEAR LAND OF BIRTH
OUR DIVERSITY STILL OUR STRENGTH
IN BROTHERHOOD WE STAND
NIGERIANS ALL, AND PROUD TO SERVE
OUR SOVEREIGN MOTHER LAND
THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
Wish we can change line 2 of the 1st stanza to "Our own dear land of birth" instead of "Our own dear native land" and line 3 to "Our diversity still our strength" instead of "Though tribe and tongue may differ". The words native/tribe often depict savagery!
