மதுரை மாவட்டம் மேலூர் அருகேயுள்ள கொடிக்குளம் கிராமத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர் ஆயி என்ற பூரணம். கனரா வங்கியில் வேலைபார்த்த இவரது கணவர் உக்கிரபாண்டியன், 30 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இறந்துவிட்டார். வாரிசு அடிப்படையில் கணவரின் வேலை ஆயி என்ற பூரணத்துக்கு கிடைத்தது. இவர் தற்போது மதுரை தல்லாகுளம் கனரா வங்கிக் கிளையில் ஊழியராகப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.
இந்நிலையில், ஆயி என்ற பூரணத்தின் மகள் ஜனனி(30) இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் இறந்துவிட்டார். அவர் இறக்கும் தருவாயில் தனது தாயாரிடம், தனது தாத்தா வழங்கிய நிலத்தை சொந்த ஊரில் உள்ள பள்ளிக்கு தானமாக வழங்குமாறு கூறியுள்ளார்.

இதையடுத்து கொடிக்குளம் அரசு நடுநிலைப் பள்ளியை தரம் உயர்த்துவதற்காக, தனது பெயரில் இருந்த ரூ.4 கோடி மதிப்பிலான ஒன்றரை ஏக்கர் நிலத்தை அரசுக்கு தானமாக வழங்கினார். கடந்த 5-ம் தேதி பள்ளியின் பெயரில் நிலத்தை பத்திரப் பதிவும் செய்து கொடுத்தார்.
