@MandySlamberg@OliverALarkin@SummerForPA To be clear, there were no concentration camps at Srebrenica.
His saying this on the anniversary of Srebrenica doesn’t undermine or diminish that history.
@jonkentcomrade Would’ve meant secure land rights, an end to occupation and self determination for the last 26 years. Sounds terrible. So much better this way.
@LibraJdaP@abidoikko@guychristensen_ Hamas was responsible for the attack it led on 10/7 and the war that resulted.
Your argument was that it was justified by past events or the conditions at the time. The course of action, attacking Israel on 10/7, was still Hamas’s choice.
@LibraJdaP@abidoikko@guychristensen_ I don’t agree that the attack on 10/7 was justified but let’s say we accept your premise, then Hamas launched or resumed a war with Israel, the point is the same. The destruction of Gaza was a result of Hamas making that attack.
@occupyitall@mau_se1@YooglyZoogly@guychristensen_ Israel had very clearly stated war aims in Gaza to 1) retrieve the hostages and 2) remove Hamas from power. Those were legitimate objectives and their conduct of the war was consistent with those objectives.
@occupyitall@mau_se1@YooglyZoogly@guychristensen_ The percent of the population is certainly relevant to whether the charge of genocide makes sense. The meaning of the word genocide is to kill a population. If the population was not killed, then it’s not a genocide.
