When China has its real sputnik moment, aided by talents that were pushed out by racism and paranoia elsewhere, I hope all those "China watchers" who fanned the rhetoric while sitting unaffected in their pretty chairs, can look in the mirror and say "JOB WELL DONE!".
This 'senior official' was Vinay Prasad. Disclosing trade secret information without legal authorization is a prohibited act under the FDCA & a criminal violation under the Trade Secrets Act.
Some context for the UniQure $QURE post below:
Earlier today, the FDA held a media call with the same "senior FDA official" who spoke to me (and other reporters) individually earlier in the week.
The call was set up obstensibly so that this senior FDA official could rail against UniQure without going on the record. He did exactly this for 30 minutes, repeating the same criticisms, claiming Uniqure's Huntington’s therapy is a failure, the sham surgery would be blinded even if just small "nicks" in the skin were made in a 30-minute procedure, dismissing the idea of formally reviewing the therapy, disregarding outside scientific experts, and then accusing the media of not adequately covering what the FDA (and this official) have been doing.
Reporters from Bloomberg, STAT, NY Times, WSJ, Politico and other media organizations were on the call.
NEW:
In another egregious personnel decision under the Trump administration, it is now being reported that longtime progressive Marxist Vinay Prasad who referred to President Trump’s supporters as criminals and compared them to drug addicts after saying he stabbed a Trump voodoo doll to “curse Trump” is apparently back at FDA after @MartyMakary advocated for him.
In the coming weeks, I will be ramping up my exposes of officials within HHS and FDA so the American people can see more of the pay for play rot themselves and how rabid Trump haters continue to be hired in the Trump administration.
There are several Senate Confirmation hearings coming up and I have multiple oppo books ready for distribution!
Should be a good time.
In all seriousness, if FDA is going to streamline clinical trials to compete against China, Vinay Prasad would not be the right person to develop the new framework.
When China has its real sputnik moment, aided by talents that were pushed out by racism and paranoia elsewhere, I hope all those "China watchers" who fanned the rhetoric while sitting unaffected in their pretty chairs, can look in the mirror and say "JOB WELL DONE!".
