Have your kids play multiple sports AND make sure they are not doing an excessive amount of hours of sports per week. It's about variety and volume to optimize performance, prevent injury, and lessen burn out.
Has your teen suddenly gotten taller but more awkward? Struggling with skills they used to nail?
Complaining of soreness and "little niggles"?
Chances are, they’re hitting a growth spurt.
This thread explores how best to support them across training, nutrition, recovery & more
6 common myths about kids and strength training
There are a handful of myths about kids and strength training that just won’t die. Let’s fix that:
❌ It stunts growth
❌ It’s dangerous for bones or growth plates
❌ Kids need to wait until they’re 12
❌ Girls will get “bulky”
❌ It starts or delays puberty
❌ You need expensive equipment or a private coach
Here’s the truth: If a child can follow instructions, stay focused and wants to train, they’re ready. Early training builds coordination, motor control and a lifelong movement foundation—not massive muscles.
Bottom line (and just like I say on every podcast): If they have a body, they’re an athlete. Let’s stop holding kids back with bad science.
