@julihespenheide This is one of the hardest things to do as I’ve been making my own creative tool. Provide the power to make most designs, without providing examples that copy originals. One of the reasons I have so few actual samples images right now.

@BrettFromDJ I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m excited for this because I’ve inherited old or undocumented UI and had to re-create so much crap. Now, I also “code” stuff in Codex and need to get it back into Figma. This will make it really easy.
@nickpbaker There’s plenty of room in the world for parallel thinking. Don’t let someone’s version of something dissuade you from making your own thing. If you love the idea, keep going. If theirs turned out better, improve or stop. Imagine if we all stopped after making the first lampshade!
@peteoxenham@shinjipons@brendanodris The only thing that really works for me is going into dev mode and just manually copy/pasting styles. I figured it’s operator error because our figma files are far from perfect.
@dvassallo The LG one is good and I’ve had it for about 4 yrs. Much more quiet with similar suction. Removable batteries, and the one I got came with two. The materials, while plastic, feel more premium than Dyson.
@zachklein If you’re replacing one on a dimmer switch, what matters most: color temp 2700 (3000 is usually ok too), at least 95 CRI, “warmer when dimmed” feature!
I like Phillips LEDs and they have marketing jargon for the last two. “Ultra definition”, “warm glow”

@alexisohanian Same with our deadbolt. Just a random "smart" Schlage from Home Depot. 8yo and wife both just use the keypad on the front, but I unlock just by placing my watch against it, plus can control remotely. Otherwise it's 100% normal deadbolt.
@alexisohanian Mid-tier products shine over high-end lux in this case. Lutron Caseta has solved this for years. 100% works as a normal switch FIRST, but secondarily controllable via Alexa/Homekit. Meross is even cheaper. Visitors just flick switches, but w/ a phone, everything is silently smart
I don't mind paying more for these things, its just annoying that you need nine kinds of autism and to read a dozen different guides just to find the actually-good versions of every thing.
@orenjacob@MattWalshBlog The average home is now bathed in 5000K 80CRI light. You used to be able to buy a nice warm incandescent which always looked great. LEDs are cheaper and more efficient, but it takes so much work to get a good bulb, and they never last as advertised.
