I think if I was a Major League player right now, I'd have the Chuck Knoblauch yips, but it would be in the form of tapping my batting helmet to challenge random pitches.
Notice the March estimates of the oil inventory countdown are now occurring
Brace for new “shocks” in June
As everyone starts to see the cliff coming at the same time.
This will only add to Iran’s growing leverage
I've been thinking about how many players are used on an MLB team, and how that's changed in my baseball watching lifetime. Presented in the style of @CodifyBaseball, here are the Braves total players used, slash how many of those were pitchers.
1991: 43 players / 20 pitchers
1995: 40 / 20 WS
2000: 47 / 22
2005: 45 / 26 Baby Braves!
2010: 43 / 21
2015: 60 / 37
2021: 56 / 30 WS
2025: 73 / 46
Already in 2026: 44 / 24
(totals taken from B-R, and pitchers may include 1-2 position players throwing an inning)
@baldheaded1der My initial thought from eyeball & memory was he's not hitting balls as hard this year. BB Savant confirms, lowest exit velo of his career this year. Low barrel %. It looks like 2024, before the ACL.
You are seeing in real time why Trump companies went bankrupt so many times. Set aside your politics. This guy is incapable of making a deal or meaningful decision and it follows the same cycle. Big flashy announcement (Epic Fury). Adversity hits (Hormuz closed). Defraud stakeholders (promise two week solution). Freeze up (endless two week cycle loop). Compound the problem (resource depletion). Final chance to save face rejected (what you’re seeing now). Bankruptcy strikes and blame others during chaos. Rinse repeat.
Political thought... the Iran-Trump negotiations remind me of how Trump & Republicans negotiate w/ Dems. over the debt ceiling. They take a course of action that causes both sides pain & "make a bet" that the other side will give in first. A self-immolating negotiating style.
To my peeps, and my Brown and LGBTQ friends. Never forget that your light was so damn bright they handed the world to the first asshole who promised to dim it.
I'm marveling at the Braves ERA (3.09) this year, best in MLB, and a run better than the MLB avg 4.09. Starters lead the way:
1.89 Sale
2.01 Elder
2.85 Perez
3.00 Strider
3.80 Holmes

...Wiley Ballard is by far the best Braves play-by-play guy since Boog. The things he chit-chats about, they way he calls a game, far more enjoyable than Brandon Gaudin. Ballard gets more out of his color announcer, there's quality back and forth, and no awkwardness like there is with Gaudin. The bonus that I really like about Ballard is that his voice reminds me of Skip Caray's, who was the gold standard of Braves announcers. The Braves need to put Ballard on the call for more games. @BravesVisionTV
- Anne Applebaum:
"Steve Witkoff has no experience with Russia or diplomacy. I fear he imagines a US-Russia pact where he, his son, Trump's family or their circle benefit personally.
It's disturbing that American foreign policy conducted not for the US, allies or world peace, but for private interests.
Putin knows Trump is vulnerable to such deals ... that's why he keeps suggesting them.
Witkoff and Trump's entourage behave like Russians: capture the state, use it for personal wealth."
Sources: Cuban LHP Julio Robaina signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves.
Robaina, 25, was Cuba’s No. 3 starter in the 2026 WBC.
He posted a 1-0, 1.47 ERA, 18.1 IP and 15 strikeouts with Quintana Roo in the Mexican Baseball League this season.
