I cannot stand the argument "Without datacenters there would be no internet", in regards to the current backlash against modern buildouts.
Modern buildouts are mostly LLM training clusters and not what powers your average Joe's website lol and is much different technically.
@grok With that information in mind, how misleading is the argument that "Without datacenters there would be no internet" in relation to the modern backlash against datacenters?
@unusual_whales Oh the same Axios that has been saying there’s a peace deal every Sunday. But sure, china is the reason why people don’t like data centers lmao.
@SilentBobF420 There has to be a link between ADHD and OCD. They go hand and hand together and seems to get worse with each passing year, literally nothing helps lol.
@skeleglob I agree. Something about early rust experimental was so good. Twig/ladder update imo was the end of that era, same with the removal of the quarry as a deployable.
@ThomBrady5 The nearest shipyard to me only pays $38-50k/yr for certified welders lol. Good luck surviving off that wage by yourself in 2026. Better off doing anything else and not getting cancer by 60.
Gen Z is moving money from stocks to sports betting in wealth plans, 52% of them have redirected inv funds to sports betting and quarter of them treat sports betting as a deliberate part of their long-term financial plan, according to survey from Betterment. Wow.
Try to keep up with me here. The economy sucks so the stock market should go down. But because the economy sucks there's no more jobs. So the stock market should go down. But since there's no more jobs, the Federal reserve can't raise interest rates so the stock market goes up. The Federal reserve can't raise interest rates because if they do nobody can borrow money cheaply to buy things like groceries or stocks. So not raising interest rates makes stocks go up even though it makes hamburgers cost $50 each. Hamburgers costing $50 each should make you have to sell your stocks to be able to pay for food so stocks should go down. But people starving to death because they can't eat because interest rates go up causing borrowing money to be impossible causing no one to have any money for food causes stocks to go up because all the people who can afford to pay $50 for a hamburger realize that they're not going to have any competition buying stocks so they rush out and buy them now causing stocks to go up. So stocks go up even if the majority of the people can't afford to buy them anymore because they have to eat and because most people have to sell their stocks to feed themselves. But stocks will only go up until the people who can afford to buy the stocks and buy $50 hamburgers realize that there's nobody left to dump on at the top. So stocks will never hit the top and dump really hard halfway up whatever theoretical top there could have been were everybody else able to buy as well.
There. I simplified it for you.
It’s better not to care or plan for your future anymore. Anyone with two eyes and a functioning brain can see what direction the entire world is heading. The next 10 years for the majority of people will be horrible.
@Mayhem4Markets Works wonders on most uninformed boomers. They just hear “escaped sandbox” and their mind goes straight to skynet from terminator lol. Very good marketing to capture a specific audience.
