Listen up! On the latest ‘Speak Up’ podcast, the Association’s CEO (@GailMSpa) discusses what it’s like to be 70 years young. The Association that is, not the CEO! Much has happened. Much is still happening. Listen in. #WeSpeechies#SLPeeps#slp2B https://t.co/e1TZw7HWjy
The process of identifying #DevLangDis might begin with a caring adult sharing concerns about communication development. What signs have resulted in you or someone else seeking help about an individual's communication development in your experience?
We're joined in our work to raise awareness of #DevLangDis by lots of other groups doing fabulous work. Thanks for all you do @RADLDcam@NAPLIC@ICANcharity ! Please add in any others I've missed!
Tomorrow, 3 March, is World Hearing Day. You could have hearing loss if YOU: tend to raise the volume; miss parts of conversations; ask people to repeat; have a ringing sensation in the ear. We support World Hearing Day. #worldhearingday#IcommunicationP https://t.co/d093cdXFAa
@DLDandMe A3: I know a 45 yr old man, and a 70 yr old woman with #DevLangDis - both close friends. They describe a lifetime of feeling inadequate/dumb; experiencing frustration at not "keeping up" in conversation; and being misclassified as shy (by some) or arrogant (by others). #DLDandMe
FLASHBACK: September 2018.
Education Minister John Gardner:
"There is no plan to change any zones."
How can we believe his denials of further school zone changes when he's already broken his word before?
People living with a disability need the power and authority of a Royal Commission to examine the horrific violence, abuse and neglect alleged in our community. Premier @marshall_steven and Minister @miclensink must join the call for this! #DisabilityRC
.@marshall_steven is employing more spin doctors, and cutting real doctors.
He’s increased by $459,000 pa or 5.36 FTE the spin doctors in SA Health.
And tomorrow they are closing two SHINE SA community health clinics with a $547,000 pa cut.
Their priorities are all wrong.
@TImothyKittel Haven’t we missed the boat by only starting in year 1 @TImothyKittel ? In my private school sites we are screening for oral language, print concepts and PA at the end of their first term in reception/foundation
We are well overdue for a nationally-consistent scheme of how we support people with disability to make their own decisions about their own lives #disabilityrights https://t.co/Be3tjPlhQF
