Kansas SB 244 (Feb 2026) immediately invalidated licenses whose gender marker did not match sex assigned at birth. Roughly 1,700 people received notice to surrender them for reissuance with the birth-sex marker. Driving on an invalid license is a misdemeanor. They are not permanently barred from driving, but existing privileges under the prior markers were revoked until corrected. Lawsuits challenging the measure remain pending.

@HPbasketball mentioned this, but we are at the point in capitalism where there is no escape. Our hobbies and interests have been slowly eroded by billionaires. Every time I think of my favorite nba team I’m reminded that the richest landowner in the US wants to save more money.
