@Ken_Rosenthal Future trivia question: What MLB franchise hosted a World Series before any of their own fans were even allowed in their ballpark? Yup. The Texas Rangers in Globe Life Park.
@burkemagnus Burke -any idea if KBO will be renewed for 20-21? I have enjoyed it more than watching MLB, and would be thrilled to know it’s coming back!
@ATTSportsNetSW Years ago at a card show, a teacher friend met Nolan Ryan while in line w/her husband. She handed him a student’s Spelling test she’d been grading to sign. He asked, “You sure this is OK?” She assured him it was all good. And yep, the little guy was thrilled...
@RoFlo RoFlo—so we’ve got crowd noise, walkup music, and recorded “Let’s go Astros” chants here at Minute Maid-why not add some folks dressed up as vendors “selling” popcorn, drinks, etc. to the cardboard cutout fans in the stands? Would be epic on broadcasts!
@blummer27 OK, so we have crowd noise, organ music, and walkup music—To make it even more like a game, I think it would epic to have a couple of folks put on vendor outfits and walk the stands “selling” peanuts, popcorn, etc.—no one else is doing it-talk amongst yourselves-
@astros Hey—with all the cutouts in the stands, it would be hilarious to have the occasional vendors walk up and down the aisles “selling” food & drinks to them during TV broadcasts-we’ve already got music, crowd noise, etc., so folks selling stuff on camera would be epic!
@pgammo@JasonIsbell Gonna bust out some words of wisdom by the one-and-only David Lee Roth from Van Halen’s “Unchained”, who described a less-than-trustworthy senorita as, “Non-stop talker, what a rocker, blue-eyed murder in a size-5 dress.”
@ESPN Really enjoying the @jessmendoza@JohnSchriffen combo on @kbo broadcasts! The guys bring epic enthusiasm and fun to the best baseball on the airwaves—gotta have ‘em back!
@JohnSchriffen John-your enthusiasm for the @KBO pours out of the @espn broadcast-hope you’ll stay around-you’re a perfect fit for an old-school, new-cool league!
@Ben_ESPN Am totally diggin’ @KBO broadcasts, even more than MLB-@jessmendoza@jasonbenetti@ChrisBurke02 are relaxed and having fun, @DanielKimW is the snappiest dresser & best insider in the biz, the baseball is old-school new-cool, and the fans are epic! Plz come back in 2021!
@blummer27 Some possible topics for in-game discussion if needed: 1) Squirrels: Cute and Lovable, Or Evil Beasts That Destroy Backyards?, 2) The REAL Ingredients Found In Public School Salisbury Steak, or 3) Why Isn’t There A Mouse-Flavored Cat Food? Talk amongst yourselves...
@DanielKimW Daniel-is there a site I can buy Hanwha team shirts/jerseys that is written in English? The team site is in Korean and I can’t navigate it-thanks!
@JeffPassan BB is a game of adjustments. Hitters initially succeed, then pitchers get a “book” them and adjust. After the hitters fail, they adjust. Outfielders move based on a hitter’s history. So, why do some want to ban the shift? Isn’t it just another form of adjustment?
