@MattGunner32@JA___921@scottjwillis Getting to that conclusion on Eze as well, slowly. He's a moments player - nice to have, but not one you'd trust in the XI week in week out. Rogers IMO is similar in that way... so I'd much prefer Barcola for the LW (though he's not a sure thing either).
@JA___921@scottjwillis Just my opinion. I see lots of similarities with Eze. I think Rogers could be a luxury player unless we sell someone like Odegaard.
I just don't see Rogers as the right LW profile for us, he's more of an AM/second striker IMO.
@tjafrican@clivepafc@UrbainNdagano Liverpool have gone big last summer with Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz - see how that turned out. We have a different way of doing things but we will also go big for the right target. I'm sure of it.
@clivepafc@EBL2017 If Max develops right he's more than capable, my worry is Madueke seems much more tailored to the right.
I'd really love us to have a true killer on the left and feel that's our obvious evolution opportunity. maybe Rogers is that - I just can't really see that currently.
@clivepafc@EBL2017 All fair points, but I think we could get all that and more in a profile different than Rogers.
Look at Doku as an example - I think he gives you the best of both worlds.
If that was possible - Kvara is the dream.
@clivepafc@EBL2017 I hear you, but I think for too long now we went for hybrid players which is part of the reason our left side has been suffering. We don't need just versatility, but clarity. We have that clarity on the right, but not the left.
If we can get a true winger on the left, better IMO.
@DjedSpence what a poor decision to tweet this, Djed. who advised you?
your team conceded 8 goals against us this season, just escaped relegation, and saw us being crowned PL champions.
@GroggyGunner@KadusuSteve@JacobsBen@talkSPORT Surely not unanimous, near-impossible with that price tag.
But to be honest, I still recall the anxiety many folks have had when City came in for him. It was very different from other targets we chased - this one didn't have an obvious "back up plan".
@GroggyGunner@KadusuSteve@JacobsBen@talkSPORT Lol, no idea why you're getting somewhat touchy about it. I've been following online sentiment quite close on this one so that was obviously my observation.
@GroggyGunner@KadusuSteve@JacobsBen@talkSPORT As far as consensus is possible within this fanbase, I reckon this signing was pretty much a consensus. It was between us and City, and I don't think anyone doubted that if he went City, we'd be in trouble.
