Thank you to Cllr Evelyn Akoto @evenor23 for speaking at our branch meeting this evening - a really interesting talk on her role leading the work on tackling food poverty in Southwark, and the road ahead as Southwark becomes a Right to Food borough. @SouthwarkLabour
Great to have the brilliant @Miatsf at our branch meeting this evening discussing the deepening cost of living crisis and @NEF’s radical policy ideas to address it. A great discussion!
It's been 100 days since the council AGM and here is what we have been up to.
And there's plenty more to come.

The Tories' failed asylum system is having dire consequences for vulnerable people living in my constituency & across south London who have fled to the UK for their lives. My speech in the House of Commons this week >>
If you receive a pension you may be entitled to a one-off £324 Cost of Living payment, and other help to cope with rising costs – but you must claim Pension Credit first. Cllr @evenor23 explains more https://t.co/CXSO7cC6ro
Thank you to the brilliant @LabourMarina for being our guest speaker at our branch meeting last week. 🌹
We discussed the terrible proposed bus cuts 🚌 ❌ (which would see Southwark lose the 12 and 78), the Cost of Living crisis and the future of the Met police.
I was pleased to speak at the @GooseGreenLab meeting about my work on the London Assembly. Excellent discussion about policing, and the local economy. Huge issue of cuts to bus routes and the campaign against this. Thanks for inviting me!
I am furious at proposals to entirely cut the number 12 bus service, which is so vital to Dulwich Hill residents. We need more buses not less! 🚌 🚌

Route 12 essential. Needed for people to go to work, kids to go to school etc, Low car ownership in this area. People/climate/air quality can’t afford more cars
Tube-less Camberwell and Peckham needs more buses not fewer! What an irony days after Elizabeth Line opened! We must have detailed “impact assessment” on race/class/gender. Elderly at risk on crowded buses, women/girls not safe waiting/walking etc
Eid Mubarak to all celebrating across the UK and around the world🌙
As we see the end of the holy month of Ramadan, #EidAlFitr marks a moment of celebration and togetherness for Muslims.
LMN is wishing all your families the spirit of sharing, joy and peace!
We have just launched our ambitious 2022 manifesto. It's inspired by the needs of the residents we represent and will create a fairer, greener and safer borough. You can read our full set of commitments to you at https://t.co/cPAY76wbZN

21 years ago today Damilola set off for the Library. He never made it home. It’s our 20th anniversary today as a charitable trust. Thank you for your love and prayers for all the children we’ve lost since! #Damilola#London
