it was a nice experience to be surrounded by young women Police officers who had been instructed to physically stop us from proceeding to the Sattangulam
Police Station despite our assurance that we did not want to enter the PS, but only wanted to make sure that the poster which is mandatory as per the judgement of the SC in the Paramvir Singh case to be exhibited in all PSs informing the public that CCTV cameras are available in the PS & they are entitled to copies of footage if there is a complaint of a human rights violation. But no the SHO & the DSP both were adamant in preventing us from entering even the compound of the police station, only indicating how poor the state of affairs is in the Sattangulam even today 5 yrs after the torture &
murder of #JeyarajandBennix Shld not the @arivalayam Govt feel ashamed? garment. Should not @CMOTamilnadu @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @KanimozhiDMK take responsibilities for poor policing in #TamilNadu. ? if I could be prevented, imagine the state of affairs of all PSs in relation to CCTV cameras in the state of Tamil Nadu.? @nityaramakrishnan @kavisriv @VSuresh_Rights @peopleswatch @omctorg
