@RAPAP2021 I am 70 and still lifting weights and exercising regularly - it’s not only good for you physically but also for mental well-being. Can’t think of any downsides!
@FPL_Jimothy@bewarethisboy@JackJackOJackO In the 60s <5% went to Uni, in the 70s it was less than 8%, most left school at 16 and went into employment/apprenticeships. Uni funding at these levels was affordable to the state. We should be offering interest free loans not crippling young people with ever increasing debt.
@ebullienteddie In the 60s very few had the opportunity to go to Uni (3%ish), the 70s (4%ish), so whilst I (who was not one of the 3 or 4%) agree about your not paying tax on your pension contributions, please do not tar all boomers with the same brush, very few of us were so fortunate.
@AMGbadebo@BenKentish True, but then the majority of pensioners did no get the opportunity to go to University, in the 50s it was about 3% and in the 60s it was around 4%, not much higher in the 70s.
