Before the Senate passes the COVID relief bill, @SenSchumer should ask for unanimous consent for a resolution thanking the hard-working clerks whom Republicans made spend 10 hours and 44 minutes reading the Coronavirus relief bill--a reading Republicans didn't bother to attend.
Why is a Senate clerk reading to a mostly empty chamber?
The Republicans who required the bill to be read aloud should be required to sit there and listen to it being read.
Took this photo of John Lewis on the Edmund Pettus Bridge 1 year ago today in Selma, Alabama. Critical that we carry forth his legacy and life’s work to ensure all Americans enjoy access to the ballot.
Trump got the vaccine but didn't want you to know. He didn't want you to believe it was safe.
His persona is more important to him than your life.
It's all an act.
A former President yesterday attacked the Supreme Court for not overturning an American election. And his supporters cheered.
Don’t be numbed by how wrong this is.
America's 660 billionaires could give everybody in the country a $3,900 survival check and still be as rich as they were before the pandemic.
If that doesn’t convince you we need a wealth tax, I don’t know what will.
Let's give Biden a chance, and the benefit of the doubt. He stepped in to a country in crisis, and a federal government in disarray. We can't except our President to be perfect - having one who is earnest, honest, compassionate and competent is a damn good start.
Every single Republican in Congress opposed sending people relief during the worst pandemic in a hundred years. Every one of them who had the chance voted for a $2.3 trillion tax break for the wealthy 4 years ago.
I feel like I owe @tedcruz an apology. When he voted against sending aid to my home state of New Jersey after Sandy I accused him of only caring about Texas. I was obviously wrong.
The thing about Rush Limbaugh is he wasn't the zealot that he came across as. Rush did it for the money. Lots of it. Just like Hannity and company, his background wasn't in politics or a political movement. It was making money. That explains the right wing media right there.
It needs to be LOUDLY emphasized that this is a lie. Wind and solar power actually overperformed expected winter capacity in Texas. The state was crippled by frozen coal and gas plants, knocking out over 30 gigawatts of power. Sources below.
UPDATE: The mayor of Colorado City, Texas RESIGNS after posting people were “weak” for asking for water and electricity and saying “the city owes you nothing” — Putting anti-government Republicans in charge of government has consequences.

Texans are suffering without power because those in power have failed us. As with Covid, a natural disaster has become far deadlier due to the inaction & ineptitude of Abbott and Texas’ Republican leadership. This didn’t have to happen and doesn’t have to continue. 1/4
