Last night Ukraine could not intercept a single Russian ballistic missile. The USA deliberately starving Ukraine of Patriot missiles is now clearly understood by the Russians as American support for their terror bombing. The USA is helping Putin kill Ukrainians.
ZELENSKYY: Every pure heart in the world is hoping for just one thing from Ukraine — that we will defeat this Russian scum. And we will. We will certainly defend our state. We will certainly defend our independence and Ukraine’s sovereignty.
I’m shocked that Russia can crash a building onto sleeping families in a European capital, murdering 30 people, without any meaningful reaction from the world whatsoever.
HAPPY 250th USA! A good day to remember this iconic 1984 photo of construction worker Anthony Soraci, grandson of Italian immigrants, leaning in to kiss the Statue of Liberty while on scaffolding during restoration work.
This ship is my everything. As a sailor in the @Armada_esp, I served aboard her for 6 months. In 1990, I arrived in the USA for the first time — up in the mast, watching Ellis Island and Lady Liberty come into view. Now, on the 250th anniversary, nothing gives me more joy than seeing this ship connect the two countries I love. 🇪🇸🇺🇸⛵
A country’s vitality is deeply tied to the value it affords to human life in every form and condition, acknowledging the dignity endowed upon every human person by virtue of their very existence. The moral greatness of a nation is manifested, above all, in its capacity to support, protect and cherish the lives of all, especially the most vulnerable and those whose worth is questioned.
Jack Smith: I'll give you an example from from my life. I resigned as special counsel. I know I need to get a lawyer because the president has said he wants to jail me for doing my job. And so I retain lawyers, as soon as that becomes public, the president and the justice department target that law firm, and they do it because they don't want me to have counsel. They don't want to have anyone represent me…
Liz Oyer, former Pardon Attorney, describes how Todd Blanche fired her when she refused to do a dangerous official favor for Trump friend Mel Gibson. The actor lost his federal firearm rights after committing domestic violence. Gibson assaulted his girlfriend while she was holding their baby daughter, smashing her in the mouth, breaking her teeth, threatening her with his gun. Gibson asked Trump’s DOJ to reinstate his federal firearm rights despite his criminal conviction. Although Blanche had the power to do it on his own, he tried to force Oyer to give her stamp of approval. Not convinced of Gibson’s rehabilitation or his lack of dangerousness, and knowing that over half of women murdered in the United States are killed by a current or past intimate partner, and the presence of firearms in an abusive household increases the risk of murder by 500%, Oyer refused to have anything to do with Blanche’s dangerous and unethical suggestion. Blanche sacked her.
Clarence Thomas argued the 14th Amendment was written narrowly for former enslaved people and doesn't apply broadly today. Using that same logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets and doesn't apply to AR-15's, but somehow, he's never made that argument.
The net effect of this decision is political parties will have more power over individual candidates. When elections are over, winning candidates will feel more obligated to vote with their parties instead of their constituents.
