Guardians of the Glades stand to protect the interests of Belle Glade, South Bay & Pahokee residents & businesses. Our mission is to sustain the Glades.
We stood up to support the candidates that best KNOW, represent and SUPPORT our community. The candidates that were elected won by large margins because they are the real supporters and residents of the Glades.
The Glades community is a close-knit community. We support, pray for and love on each other. When times are difficult, everyone rallies together to take care of each other. We stand up for our community and fight for what is ours.
It’s insulting for @pbpost & @mannahhorse, who never even step foot in the Glades, to declare our record turnout during the last local election was due to anything other than those of us in the Glades doing right by & working hard for our own community.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the 1928 hurricane that devastated the Glades and killed thousands of people-the exact number is unknown because in some instances, entire families were killed. Tomorrow, the Guardians will highlight the '28 Storm & remember this historic event.
Farmworkers are critical to our @FreshFromFL food supply, but their needs often go unmet.
Today, I announced our @FDACS Farmworker Advisory Council, giving farmworkers a voice on the Cabinet. Thank you @WeCount_FL, @CIW, @MujerFLA, @CCFC1972 & @COFFO_Florida for joining us.
Thanks, Rep. Skidmore, for visiting the Glades to discuss our community and local initiatives. Your tenacity this legislative session is much appreciated!
