I'm fascinated by the 1914 #Bristol International Exhibition, the great "White City" that lives on in the name of the local White City Allotments. I made a website that shows you @bristolarchives' plan of the Exhibition in a modern context: https://t.co/L5ndwZZrpS #history
All electrons in the universe but one are just pointers to the original, which is kept at room temperature in a very small glass jar at the BIPM in Sèvres, France.
Much of the puzzling nature of quantum mechanics can be understood through one simple but profound fact: particles of the same kind are truly identical

There is something very wrong on the Portway and there are ambulances and fire crews including the rescue boat team heading that way fast. Maybe best avoided #bristol
Never stop saying "dozen" and "half dozen". Never stop using the word you read in an old novella. Never stop using your regional jargon. Don't succumb to an internationalized English stripped of its whimsy and romanticism in the name of streamlining global commerce.
@ronanbeckman Always reminded of Larry Niven's first edition of Ringworld, where the great hard SF author had the earth rotating in the wrong direction in chapter one :D
🚨 CRITICAL: Active supply chain attack on axios -- one of npm's most depended-on packages.
The latest [email protected] now pulls in [email protected], a package that did not exist before today. This is a live compromise.
This is textbook supply chain installer malware. axios has 100M+ weekly downloads. Every npm install pulling the latest version is potentially compromised right now.
Socket AI analysis confirms this is malware. plain-crypto-js is an obfuscated dropper/loader that:
• Deobfuscates embedded payloads and operational strings at runtime
• Dynamically loads fs, os, and execSync to evade static analysis
• Executes decoded shell commands
• Stages and copies payload files into OS temp and Windows ProgramData directories
• Deletes and renames artifacts post-execution to destroy forensic evidence
If you use axios, pin your version immediately and audit your lockfiles. Do not upgrade.
@martr101 I think there are problems with adding bollards/railings by the pub because of cellars below(?). I wonder if there's space to narrow the road down and increase the distance to the pub frontage and maybe allow some bollards/railings/whatever. Or at least put a speed cam in...
