@Jessica179289 Might be thalassophobia kicking in! More gothic texts should be set underwater. Super creepy setting. #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@LucindaFrancese I guess they're related via vampirism, considering they were all sired by Carlisle. I think. #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@ReannaKissell Indeed. Overturning gender stereotypes by actively exploring her sexuality is certainly a postfeminist attribute! #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@Sjpetzke It's certainly a gateway to gothic lit - makes gothic literature much more accessible! #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@Sjpetzke She states that Bella is a postfeminist heroine because of her aggressive sexuality towards Edward. Yup. #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

I'm glad we're working on Twilight as I'm interested in the different perspectives of the saga instead of the same old quibbles #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

I'm doing my oral on the Kristine Moruzi article which provides interesting insight on sexuality in Twilight. Recommend reading it #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@chriso_eng2got Edward's not a monster, just a love interest that is a supernatural figure to add spice to the relationship #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@OliviaEllisENGG The 'enemy' vampires would contribute to the horror aspect, wouldn't they? #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@chriso_eng2got She seemed to be content until she was exposed to vampires. It's like Harry returning home after being at Hogwarts #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@adrianaf23 I've always thought that the reason why Bella has no personality is because Meyer is not very good at first person #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@Sjpetzke #ENG2GOT I'm not interested in watching more because of the whole female lead fawning over vamps thing.

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@Sjpetzke #ENG2GOT It works well because it reflects real life human society so well.

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@chriso_eng2got #ENG2GOT With the vampires being stronger, or the humans? In the 1st ep there are humans armed with silver o:

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@zachgothiclit In a way, True Blood depicts vamps in a very 'realistic' way if you know what I mean #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

Interesting how in True Blood, vampires attempt integration into human society. Even in Twilight, they keep their identities hidden #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

Noticing some similarities between the first episode of True Blood and Twilight #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@zachgothiclit They were treated similarly to other vamp stories though - hated and ostracised (except for Angel) #ENG2GOT

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

#ENG2GOT It's surprisingly easy to spot the gothic literature aspects in the Buffy episodes, regardless of whether they are satirised or not

[Phuong Lily Nguyen @gothiclitlily]

@hylatrobe Haven't seen enough, but Buffy vs Dracula was an interesting combo of feminine and masculine gothic aspects! #ENG2GOT
