@daughterfIIne OP either has an eidetic memory or they’re exaggerating by saying they “accidentally” learned Japanese bc at some point it had to go from accidental to purposefully paying attention, at least on the reading and grammar aspect of that level.

@daughterfIIne English doesn’t have three writing systems though, one that requires intensive memorization. The N3 is a test that has over 600 kanji, some advanced, and to pass it means learning the kanji in certain order, which you’d not find by randomly watching a show with subtitles.
