Hello #uglydogs, I’m breaking my hiatus on here to share that at her face on Saturday, Pilot stole a glove. It was very soft and red, and it felt very nice under her collar.
For about 100 meters, Pilot ran smugly with this glove. Every time I tried to snatch it, Pilot ran faster and yanked the bungee out of my hand.
It fell out onto a hay bale, and a good samaritan picked it up and took it to the race director. It then went on a sled ride!
Twitter hasn’t been working for me for weeks, but here’s another stab at showing up he internet what I make.

Tried new knitting things and made this hat that’s up for sale on my knitwear Instagram page, @ giraadventurewear. I would personally wear this hat while adventuring in a city, because all adventures need warm hats. Almost always wearing my feelings box sweatshirt ❤️
@msmiddy Some of these guys ran 10 miles before this, too. They’ve got steep training for some longer races this season but they still did a fantastic job. We had the two happiest teams today, IMO 😊
@BenMill56489137 We had a long car ride afterwards so we stuck to yummy sled dog food of soup (kibbles, hot water, beef) and chicken drumsticks. She ate 3 and probably could have eaten 17 more. Now I’m starting to think I ran Colbert and not Pilot…
@BenMill56489137 Truly, and I’m so proud of her. I knew she’d do well, she’s no stranger to a harness. But with new dogs and trails and people? Veteran status GAINED. I don’t have the words for my pride.
This was also my first time on a sled in nearly 2 years. Living far from stuff, not having a car until recently, and having 1 dog makes that a little tricky. This was as exciting for me as it was for Pi ❤️ A 4-5 dog team has a really special place in my heart.
Spot the Alaskans 😆 Jokes aside, Khan and Spock were the rocks of the team, providing the consistency and calm that the Alaskans…lacked. What they don’t have in patience they make up for in enthusiasm.
That’s right, it’s Pilot! Today was her first run in a team with my friend Julia’s crew of Siberians and Alaskans. We’ve known of each other a while online and finally met up at a race and had some fun mikes!
