@SoaRZephy Even the open matchmaking sucks. The easy lobbies are again the only lobbies with good ping, and in my regular (more difficult) lobbies, my ping almost doubles. I hate this game.
@Doyle477493545@Battlefield I recommend doing port prioritisation in your router (and port forwarding if not already done). The game works absolutely fine for me, and this might help you, too.
@BlankChequeDek@Battlefield I recommend port forwarding regarding bot lobbies and port prioritisation regarding hitreg. Me and my friends did these settings in our routers, and we do not have any issues with the game regarding connection (bot lobbies happen but are very rare).
@darealIcar0@3eefc4ke@BattlefieldComm Using the DMZ function, you do not need to forwards ports, correct. This should at least help regarding bot lobbies. But this does not replace port prioritisation (important for hitreg) because everything at your home still goes through the same router.
@3eefc4ke@BattlefieldComm Port prioritisation (especially of the UDP ports) is a must if you have multiple devices in your home network. And even if not, it will improve your ping. This ensures that import real-time packets are not slowed down because something else is happening in your home network.
@OMGItsJuba@TheRickYouTube@CallofDutyCM MW19 was the one where they started to do matchmaking and the actual match via dedicated servers. In the PS3/360 games, it was mostly P2P. But for the PS4/One games, they moved to a hybrid format: matchmaking via dedicated server and match via P2P.
@OMGItsJuba@TheRickYouTube@CallofDutyCM BF6 has dedicated servers. Many old CoDs on PC have dedicated servers. PS4/One CoDs at least do the matchmaking via dedicated servers. But only the SBMM CoDs have such issues with search times.
@StodehTV@EA_DICE Did you do port forwarding in your router? I also play on EU servers and never see something like this. But I play on PS5 with crossplay off, and most of Chinese players are on PC I think. This could also have an effect.
@OMGItsJuba@TheRickYouTube@CallofDutyCM I am talking about regular lobbies without bots. I am usually not put into bot lobbies.
Or just search for a match in PS3/360 CoD games. If people are playing the mode, you find a lobby 1 or 2 s. 30 s is not fast, except you only know SBMM search times.
@OMGItsJuba@TheRickYouTube@CallofDutyCM I usually find lobbies in BF6 in less than 10 s, no matter which time. Crossplay off, queuing for single modes, and well.. we are talking about 32v32. 30 s for only 6v6 is not fast at all.
@NastyMeatDylan@GhostGamingG And to further reduce hitreg etc. issues, port prioritisation is important, especially if you have multiple network devices at home. The game cannot and should not do these settings for the user.
@NastyMeatDylan@GhostGamingG The best internet connection in the world is worth nothing if your router keeps blocking important packets. Routers do this by default for security reasons. Google the terms NAT type and port forwarding (port opening). This will help you for every online game, not only BF6.
@NastyMeatDylan@GhostGamingG I am playing on EU servers (PS5) and rarely have bots in my lobbies. Sometimes, there are a few, but they get replaced by real people quickly. I usually queue for single modes. I assume that most people do not do port forwarding in their routers and are locked out of many lobbies
@TheGhostOfHope I expect most older CoDs to be delisted end of next year anyway, at least in the EU. I do not expect Activision to fix all the security issues to comply with the Cyber Resiliance Act. They are even struggling to do this for current games.
@ThatBoomer@TheGhostOfHope I think he is talking about about the PS4/Xbox One games. Crossplay for the PS3/360 games would make less sense because there is no PS3 backwards compatibility. Those games would indeed require re-releases/remasters like MWR.
@WhiteManReborn My biggest issue is the matchmaking. Even in quick play playlists, they prioritise skill rating over ping (even though the description says otherwise). I am sick of this.
