All day, every day in my feed.
I point out serious points of Trump's policy foibles (lockdowns, Faucism, PPP loans, border failures, Covid committee, WarpSpeed, printing $, massive debt, his terrible hires...) I bring the receipts (video, press releases, the works!) and...
The fact that Manchin & Sinema held the line for two years and the GOP has razor-thin control of the House has many if not most of us on the right side of the political aisle in a bit of denial concerning the 2024 stakes. Democrats are temporarily powerless to do the worst things they want to do, the things that would permanently alter this country and make outlaws of us all.
They can't nuke the Senate filibuster yet, which would make every insane bill, from climate change to gun grabs, immediately passable. They can't stack the Supreme Court yet, which would make legal challenges to their insanity completely futile. They can't make Washington DC and Puerto Rico states yet, which would cement their hold on the Senate indefinitely.
But make no mistake, as soon as they get their hands on three branches of government, they WILL do ALL of those things, and so much more. While it may seem to us that we're coasting along, they're just biding their time. They know what's coming. That's why they're all-in on us nominating Trump. They know it's an easy win. They know indictments help Trump in a primary and hurt him in a general, and they are loving every minute of it.
If we choose a completely unelectable candidate with a favorability rating of 37% who is fighting four sets of felony charges in four different jurisdictions (and counting) to be the standard bearer in the most important presidential election in history, we are not a serious party and we entirely deserve what we get.
