Advancing state and global policy, not politics, as we seek real-world solutions to challenges facing society. Led by former Governor @Schwarzenegger at @USC
Thank you to everyone who joined Governor @Schwarzenegger to celebrate 20 years of AB 32! This law proves that we can have a clean environment that supports a strong economy.
Listen to Joe's history of AB 32, "The Whole Enchilada: Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Making of California's Historic Global Warming Law," here: https://t.co/vNdfYyAAyx
"AB 32 made plain that global warming and the climate and any pollution affecting them, shall not be above the law of the State of California." - @joemmathews at our AB 32 celebration.
"The 3.9% cut in 2024 was an improvement from 3% in 2023, “so we are moving in the right direction,” said Next 10’s founder, F. Noel Perry. 2024 represented the largest annual reduction, outside of pandemic & recession years of 2020 and 2008."

Last week, we celebrated 20 years of AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act, with @MoveCAFWD@CAgovernor@Next10! If you don’t think a clean environment and a strong economy is possible, come to California.
LA Times: Schwarzenegger, Newsom Mark 20 Years of Climate Law
Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, celebrated the 20-year anniversary of landmark climate legislation he signed while in office alongside Democrats including Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday
Schwarzenegger: “California is the perfect example of what can be done when people work together and when we don’t look at this as a Republican or as a Democratic issue.”

• $16 Billion in utility bill relief.
• $886 Million in electricity bill credits this year alone.
• $37 Billion reinvested in CA communities.
• 23,000 megawatts of battery storage strengthening the grid.
The Golden State is showing it’s possible to protect the environment AND making life more affordable.
There is no Republican air or Democratic air. California belongs to the people and that is why each governor has a responsibility to build on the work of previous governors. AB 32 is an example of how progress can endure over terms, decades, and opponents.
Governor @Schwarzenegger: “California is shining worldwide… the perfect example of what can be done when people work together”
Not Democrats versus Republicans. Californians working together.

I had a simple test for hiring in the Governor’s Office: do you want to serve the public? I didn’t care what party you came from, and I didn’t care what my party said about you. That’s how it should be. Public servants, not party servants.
@govarnoldusc had a fantastic event yesterday about the 20th anniversary of AB 32, California’s historic law I signed to terminate pollution and prove you can protect the environment and pump up the economy. Since 2000, California’s emissions are down 21%, while our economy is up 81%.
We served the public. Not the party.

We were honored to join Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, CARB Chair Lauren Sanchez, and other California leaders in celebrating the 20th anniversary of AB 32, California’s Global Warming Solutions Act. Thank you to the USC Schwarzenegger Institute!
@GovArnoldUSC
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of AB 32! This dream team, along with many others, created a new standard for taking control of fuel emissions. A bill that began in CA now is a law that influences the world.
To do anything as big as #AB32, you have to do it together. It was an honor to have all of the business leaders, elected officials, staff members, and change-makers behind this incredible law all in the same room.
📉 CA cut climate emissions again in 2024 — statewide emissions fell another 3.9% in 2024 extending a 20-year downward trend even as the economy continues to expand. Two decades after AB 32, California’s climate progress continues delivering real progress https://t.co/iHvaXkIech
