UPDATE: : Judge Chutkan has just denied former President Trump’s request to extend the briefing time on the protective order motion put in place after his Truth Social post saying “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”
Trump now must respond to the protective order request by Monday.
See order below:
Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.
New: As Republicans push an extreme anti-LGBTQ agenda nationwide, Americans’ support for same-sex marriage has now reached a record high, 71%. https://t.co/pRj5yRO5jQ
BREAKING: Matt Damon and Ben Affleck threaten Donald Trump, put him on notice that he must stop using the audio from their movies in order to promote his campaign and fundraise money or else they will take serious action.
It all started shortly after Trump was slapped with a federal indictment for violating the Espionage Act, when Trump posted a campaign video on TruthSocial in which he played the victim and begged for donations from his gullible followers.
The problem is that Trump used audio in the video from one of Affleck and Damon’s movies titled Air, a biographical drama starting Michael Jordan.
Affleck and Damon’s studio just released this public statement calling out Trump and sending him a thinly-veiled threat that that they will take legal action if he does it again:
“We had no foreknowledge of, did not consent to and do not endorse or approve any footage or audio from Air being repurposed by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement. Specifically in terms of any and all rights available to us under US copyright and intellectual property law, we hereby, expressly give notice that in the case of any use of material from Air by the Trump campaign where approval or consent is required, we do not grant such consent.”
Please retweet and ❤️ to thank Ben Affleck and Matt Damon for setting Trump straight — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new Twitter competitor that is exploding in popularity because Elon Musk banned Tribel’s Twitter account — but he forgot to ban this link to download the new Tribel app: https://t.co/HnJzSKj4Hp
In Detroit, Hamtramck and HP there's one primary way for people facing homelessness to find shelter: a hotline called CAM.
That hotline, and the system behind it, is changing hands. It's also received sharp feedback from people. Here's our deep dive:

Progressives are upset about the Pentagon’s newly enforced ban on drag shows on military bases, as LGBTQ groups accuse military leaders of folding to Republican pressure. https://t.co/e0Mchd8wgQ
Let's level set here.
A governor had to send his taxpayer funded operation to ANOTHER state to find people to use as pawns.
He lied to them. Bussed them to yet another state. Flew them on a taxpayer funded charter flight. Then dumped them on the steps of a catholic charity.
All for his own pathetic scheme to gain attention.
We will not be backing down from holding those involved accountable.
This weekend in Chicago, Taylor Swift took a stand against anti-LGBTQ legislation, and stood by the LGBTQ community during Pride month.
She said:
"I’m looking out tonight and I’m seeing so many incredible individuals who are living authentically and beautifully, and this is safe space for you. This is a celebratory space for you."
"So being with you during Pride month, getting to sing the word you need to calm down, where there are lyrics like ‘can you just not step on his gown,’ or ‘shade never made anybody less gay,’ and you guys are screaming those lyrics."
"The most beautiful experience for me is to look out. I wish that every place was so safe and beautiful for people in the LGBTQ community. We can’t talk about Pride without talking about pain. There have been so many harmful pieces of legislation that have put people in the LGBTQ community at risk. It’s painful for everyone, every ally, every loved one, every person in these communities and that’s why I’m always posting, ‘This is when the midterms are. This is when these important key primaries are.’"
"Because we can support as much as we want during Pride month, but if we’re not doing our research on these elected officials — are they advocates, are they allies, are they protectors of equality, ‘do I want to vote for them?’ I love you guys so much and happy Pride month."
What are your thoughts on Swift's comments?
SHE IS A KEEPER!
It happened at a New York Airport. This is hilarious. I wish I had the guts of this girl. An award should go to the gate agent in New York for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably
deserved to fly as cargo. For all of you out there who have had to deal with an irate customer, this one is for you.
A crowded flight was canceled. A single agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers.
Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS."
The agent replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these folks first; and then I'm sure we'll be able to work something out."
The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that
the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"
Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone. "May I have your attention, please?", she began, her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with his identity, please come to Gate 14".
With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically,
the man glared at the United Airlines agent, gritted his teeth, and said, "F*** You!"
Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry sir,
you'll have to get in line for that, too."
