Anaesthetists & intensive care doctors working in the HIGHEST risk areas where aerosol generating procedures (AGPs) were being performed on Covid patients ended up being at far LOWER risk than other HCWs in terms of infection & Covid-related mortality.

Why?

@vaughangething Except you haven’t listened to GPs, who engage in 90% of NHS medical contacts. You’ve withdrawn resources on the basis of no additional funds available. And now you’ve found some. Hope you realise how divisive this is.

@Azeem_Majeed But how do we get headline grabbing politicians to accept this openly, or even understand it. The level of comprehension is appallingly bad, but there appears to be no want to learn. Maybe appraisal and revalidation for MPs?

@EmergencyBod And under his leadership GP funding has dropped again to 6.2% of NHS Wales budget. From over 10% previously. Doesn’t stop him presiding over GP blaming for his government’s decisions, whilst giving GP Principals a pay cut this year - not the 5% they misleadingly quote.
