Today’s story is a historical and documented one 🚨💣💣

The man in the picture is Antonio Pérez Balada, a former Atlético Madrid goalkeeper.

In 2013, Spanish newspaper AS interviewed him on the occasion of his 94th birthday. During the interview, he spoke about a famous incident from the 1947/48 season.

Antonio Pérez said 🎙️:

“In the 1947/48 season, we went to play the final league game in Gijón. We weren’t competing for anything, but Real Madrid, who were playing Oviedo at home, were in danger of relegation.

Someone sent by Real Madrid spoke to our team delegate and offered us 20,000 duros if we beat Gijón. In the end, we won the game and divided the money among all of us.”

And yet these are the same people who have the audacity to bring up the so called “Negreira case” every single time they lose or suffer a failure.

They have turned the Negreira case into their favorite excuse and constantly use it to distract their fans from their own failures. Whenever things go wrong for Real Madrid, the same narrative suddenly comes back again, giving their fans something else to talk about instead of asking questions about what is actually happening at their club.

Meanwhile, we have a former Atlético Madrid player publicly recalling an alleged payment from someone representing Real Madrid for a specific result decades before the Negreira case even existed.

This is the history they don’t want you to talk about. 🚨💣
