Years ago I won a competition & a book by @friebos called Mountain Higher
At the time, due to an old overuse injury, I wasn't even cycling. I stared wistfully at those climbs ๐ข
Today I returned to the mountains for the 1st time in 15yrs, choosing Mont Tendre to break the spell

@Ddozmoe@BenjiNaesen It was great, but by the end (given the ending) I wish they'd managed to tell it over two seasons instead of three. The cycles got a bit repetitive.
My 80yrs neighbour, a keen cyclist has renewed his road bikes every 5 years or so. I asked how he got this ยฃยฃ spending past his wife.
His secret - His custom bike builder paints all his new bikes exactly the same! ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐คฃ
@Roadman_Podcast I used to run mine in the kitchen of my little 1 bedroom flat, until the walls sweated. Dreaming of the sort of technology we have today.
Still, it got me fit enough to win! Also portable enough to stick in the boot and warm up before races โ can't do that with a smart trainer!
@JamesTalksSport@tadejmooric Niewiadoma looked like she was poised to strike, later up the climb, but dropped like a stone when it happened. I wonder if it was a fuelling issue?
@kaczkagolab@boboomf Yes I rather enjoyed the first few tutorials but it just got too daft. Plus, when I tried to port what I'd learned across to a published cryptic, it was completely different.
@privatetalky I really miss Touch ID. Face ID sucks in comparison.
What's the difference between 3D Touch and Force Touch (if that's what it's called โ the thing that lets you 'peek & pop' with haptic feedback) that we now have?
