This is the Dept opportunity to stop the whole process.
Use this as the reason to pause, review, and do it properly, without PR as being the impulse behind the changes and make education for all be the guide.
The Eucharistic and Rosary procession in Derry passes through the Bogside, near where 14 Catholics were murdered by the British Army on Bloody Sunday in 1972. The resilience of the Faith of this city is truly inspiring.
“When you drop your child into school and you know there’s an SNA in the school, you walk out and go, ‘Awh, it’s gonna be okay.’”
This is why SNAs are so important.
Niamh shares the relief that comes from knowing that support is there when your child walks through the school gates❤️

So no time allocation is to be provided on the timetable by @Education_Ire for the implementation of Senior Cycle reform.
No lab assistance for Science teachers.
No time for the uploading of AACs.
No assistance within schools.
Instead the ASTI sell 14 unpaid Croke Park hours.
At the 2024 ASTI convention a motion was passed for ASTI members to take industrial action (including striking) to get the CP hours abolished.
That's now sidelined and instead the leadership are using CP hours as a "win" and a reason to vote Yes.
Unbelievable.
ASTI (and the TUI) are claiming a victory that 13 Croke Park hours (that's your own time by the way) can be used for Senior Cycle reform.
What they don't tell you is that this is only for 3-5 years.
After that it's back to normal CP hours.
It's all in the SCRISM document.
RIP Ollie Horgan. A legend of the game, a proud Galwegian who always acknowledged supporters and brought smiles back to the faces of all at Galway United.
Great to see the staff of Saint Eunan's College in Letterkenny wearing their Ollie Horgan jerseys at a fundraiser for Cancer Care Northwest recently 💜

Today TUI is actively advertising the new SCR Co-ordinator posts to its members. Posts that ASTI members cannot apply for. In the same schools. Sitting beside each other. This is what divide and conquer looks like in practice. @TUI_Ireland @ASTIunion@OireachtasNews@1Hildegarde
The Irish State this week formally banned a group of teachers from applying for promotion in their own schools. Not because of their performance. Not because of their qualifications. Because of which union they belong to. A thread. 🧵 #ASTIExcluded#WorkersRights#edchatie
@oide_Ireland Not a single school manager in any school with mixed union or non union membership will implement this circular. (Pretty much every school) One of the most divisive and disrespectful moves I've witnessed by @Education_Ire in my 17 years as a principal.
One of the most intelligent lads in my Junior Cert class got straight As. He left school to do an Electrical Apprenticeship. When we were going into college, he was finishing his final year. When we were eating beans on toast in second year, he was working full time on the port tunnel. By time I finished college, he’d set up his own company. He’s now one of the top electrical contractors in Ireland, owns his own home outright and plans to retire early.
The stigma attached to apprenticeships is disgusting. I’d be delighted for either of my kids to go down the route. No AI going to take the job of a plumber, sparks or joiner.
Jimmy Nesbitt has walked with and supported those bereaved and injured as a result of the Troubles with compassion, humility and with the ultimate integrity for over two decades. We can never, ever thank him enough.
His support for the families of those disappeared has been phenomenal. All the families want is to give their loved ones a Christian burial.

Oide are miles off the mark. Six hours of rambling through a PowerPoint isn’t professional development, it’s an insult to teachers trying to manage the real, daily impact of AI in the classroom. We deserve better than this.
As the vote goes to cabinet today for the inquiry in to care of children with Spina Bifida and scoliosis, I want this image etched in their mind.
A simple closed door.
Harvey’s bedroom door.
A door I cannot clean because those marks at the bottom are from him bursting through it in his wheelchair.
Bursting through, full of joy, full of life.
This door should be open.
Sounds of laughter should still be echoing from that room,
But it remains closed.
#JusticeForHarvey
We fought for Harvey at 12 weeks pregnant when we got the diagnosis.
We fought for Harvey at 36 weeks pregnant when they suggested withdrawing medical care at birth.
We fought for Harvey when we found out he had severe scoliosis and had only been linked to an orthopaedic surgeon that deals with feet.
We fought for Harvey when they dismissed my concerns around allergies-later diagnosed as anaphylactic.
We fought for Harvey when they tried to provide a buggy instead of a wheelchair.
We fought for Harvey when he had delays getting a suitable hospital bed for home.
We fought for 5 years to get him a speech device so he could communicate.
We fought for him to get scoliosis surgery.
We fought for answers when we found out he was removed from the surgical list.
Harvey is now gone and we will continue to fight for him, and for the other children and families facing these unnecessary and cruel battles.
We fight because Harvey deserved better and we fight because that is what Harvey always did.
If government or CHI think we will ever be quiet and just accept what has been allowed happen, they simply haven’t been paying attention.

CHI needs to go. Immediately - Board & Executive. #Disabled children are not disposable or to be ‘written off’ as ‘Palliative’ - #Disabled Irish Citizens are vibrant, dynamic individuals who have a fundamental human right to life - a meaningful, fulfilled, happy, healthy life
