The most dangerous type of person you will ever meet is the person who is smart enough to make you think they’re stupid.
They appear dumb. They act dumb. They move dumb. They talk dumb.
They want you to constantly underestimate them. They don’t want you to understand them.
But beneath all that tomfoolery is a highly efficient person. Ruthless. Calculating. Dangerous.
They’ve perfected the art of hiding in plain sight.
In game theory: Most people fail because they base their actions forwardly, "if I do this, I will get this" which is rarely a good decision and ignores the second and third-order consequences of your actions. The more practical way to base your decisions is Backward Induction: start at the end of the scenario, and reason backwards. Mastering backward induction will make you dangerous
Anyone who preaches about being "above politics" simply lacks the stomach to observe and wield power. Power games are played everywhere: family, office, social relationships, institutions, everywhere which involves human interaction. Refusing to acknowledge the game doesn't make you exempt from the game. It just makes you an easier target to play with.
The morality of victory is irrelevant. What matters is you win. How you win is of absolutely no-consequence. You will be respected more for cheating and winning, than playing fair and losing.
According to game theory, you should never expect others to reveal the entire truth in every scenario, even if you are good friends. Sometimes, it's just not in the person's interest. They may face a monetary punishment or a moral dilemma that they don't want to disclose. You can try to push them, but it could cause retaliation. This is the lesson: you need to balance your trust and your need to know everything. Don't do something you cannot reverse later if there's no need to.

You do not chase every advantage. You study the cost of winning. Some conflicts give you victory but poison your reputation, drain your energy, and create enemies with nothing to lose. Aggression is not a strategy. Winning is lot about knowing which battles make your future simpler.

Chidimma Adetshina is not a smart person. She did not deserve the platform Nigeria gave her. She threw that magnanimity back in our faces. Instead of maximizing the hell out of this situation she’s stuck herself in South Africa playing dumb.
You became Miss Universe Nigeria. You have the visibility, the international attention and a story that people are already interested in. That is a platform most people would kill for. Book modelling campaigns. Get brand deals. Act in Nollywood. Become a TV presenter. Start a wig, beauty or skincare business. Build a foundation for Nigerian women and children. Write a book. Build a media career. There were so many ways to turn this entire mess into a very successful life.
People with only a fraction of that visibility turned it into something tangible in Nigeria.
She was literally handed a huge platform and visibility that she could’ve milked that a thousand ways. Another Nigerian woman was literally robbed of this opportunity because of you and you’ve shown us you didn’t deserve it.
And if you don’t want to settle in Nigeria permanently, fine. Go to Nigeria, build your career, make your money and sort out your immigration situation through the proper channels. You have options.
Instead, she seems determined to fight to remain in South Africa. And I genuinely don’t understand the strategy behind that.
Before anybody starts shouting “but she has a right to be there!” yes, I understand that argument. Nobody should be forced out of a country simply because people are xenophobic toward them. But I’m talking about strategy, not principle. Sometimes you have to separate “I am right” from “what is actually best for me?”
You can be completely right and still make a terrible strategic decision.
Because even if she wins this case, then what? How comfortable is she going to be living in South Africa knowing there is already so much hostility toward her? Do you really want to spend years fighting to establish yourself somewhere where a significant portion of the public has made it very clear that they don’t want you there?
You can win in court and still lose on the street. You can win the legal battle and still lose years of your life, opportunities, peace and money in the process. Winning the argument is not automatically winning the game.
And this is where I keep asking: WHERE IS HER TEAM?
Where is the person sitting her down and saying, “Girl, forget the emotions for a minute. Let’s look at this like a business.”
Because Nigeria literally handed her another platform. She became Miss Universe Nigeria. She had an opportunity to take that visibility and turn it into an entire career.
Modelling? Yes. Nollywood? Absolutely. TV presenting? Easily. Beauty and hair business? Of course. Brand partnerships? Definitely. A charity? Why not? A book about the entire ordeal? That could have been a serious commercial opportunity. A documentary? Even better.
Imagine taking the entire South Africa controversy, the pageant drama, the Nigerian crown, the immigration battle and everything that happened afterward and turning it into a book, documentary, speaking career and personal brand. You could build an entire business around the story without having to keep yourself trapped in the middle of the original chaos.
Instead, we are still talking about immigration court.
And yes, I understand why people feel Miss Kwara was robbed of an opportunity. There were Nigerian women who entered that competition hoping that winning Miss Universe Nigeria would be their big break. They were competing for an opportunity that could potentially change their careers, and that part of the situation should not simply be ignored.
What I don’t understand is voluntarily positioning yourself in the middle of a situation where you are clearly unwanted by a portion of the population and then making the fight itself your identity.
This is the young South African whose identity was stolen by Chidimma Adetshina's mother for the benefit of Chidimma.
To all South African supporters of Chidimma, this is your fellow South African that you are supposed to be supporting instead of supporting fraudster Chidimma
