Now that the Tidal Basin Seawall has been restored, we're replacing the trees lost during construction. Funded by the #GAOA & Japan, trees including magnolias, elms, maples, and several varieties of cherry trees are now being planted west of the Jefferson Memorial. 🌸
Wow! This weekend's warm weather pushed the Yoshino cherry trees to Stage Five: Puffy White. The blossoms are coming out, we're just waiting on them to open. We expect Peak Bloom this week!

It's a windy Stage 5: Puffy White afternoon. Cherry trees have adorned the Tidal Basin since the first gift of trees from Japan in 1912. They are living representations of friendship between two nations. Help us preserve them by not picking blossoms or climbing trees. 🌸🌸🌸
Japan is gifting the United States an additional 250 cherry blossom trees to celebrate America's 250th birthday! 🌸 We'll use this logo when celebrating Japan-US friendship! 🇯🇵🇺🇸
BIG NEWS! We're projecting cherry blossom Peak Bloom to arrive between March 29 – April 1 this year.
Extraordinary warm or cool temperatures have resulted in Peak Bloom as early as March 15 (1990) and as late as April 18 (1958). 🌸🌸🌸 #CherryBlossom#BloomWatch
Although Japan is revered as a nation of beauty and order, the spiritual landscape of the country is desolate. In a culture where group identity is paramount, becoming a Christian and believing the gospel of Jesus Christ often means accepting rejection.

Lot of silliness floating around about the Bible and Nicaea. Unfortunately @RealAdamAllred repeats a lot of that here. But I think we should all take Adam’s advice when he says that we should “be honest with ourselves and start listening to the truth that is behind it, and if you doubt me, do your own research.” Hopefully this is an encouragement for Adam to take his own advice in this particular topic.
I don't normally comment on the news of the day, but the shooting of Charlie Kirk is so wicked and so grievous. It's sad to see my own kids affected. Like many Gen Zers, they love his videos. I'm grateful for the many times he clearly and cheerfully made much of Jesus Christ. If you want to honor his legacy, pick up a Bible, read about Jesus, and see what Kirk believed in. May God bless his family. May God bless America.
1/ Something that's not being reported much re: ICE crackdown at Hyundai-LG Georgia battery factory: Korean companies investing billions cannot get proper visas, are then criminalised for bringing skilled workers to fill gaps American labour cannot.
Sentiment is one of betrayal.
Shown here if you zoom in: newly posted signs in the windows of State Department HQ saying "Women's rights are human rights." (Rubio's reforms gutted the department's Office of Global Women's Issues.)
Tears, hugs, and cheers for State Dept, employees and diplomats who are leaving the building for the last time - maybe - until it becomes clear how much we need them for our security. These cuts will endanger the security of the United States
Today's purging of State Dept. employees is a blow to our global influence. The impact will echo for years. We stand with the workforce & those who know that professional, non-partisan diplomacy isn't expendable. We won't stop fighting to defend it.

State Dept employees in solidarity with their more than 1,300 colleagues who have been fired today holding an impromptu clap-out at the Department’s C street entrance. Lots of people in tears.
HAPPENING NOW!! Moving scene - tears, hugs, and cheers - inside the State Dept HQ tonight, as diplomats gathered in the lobby to clap out their laid off colleague, some of which have served for decades 👇🏻
