@TacticNotes LFC were spoilt with TAA and Robbo for so many years, they were among the clubβs greats in their wingback position. Trent had a wonderful eye for a pass and Robbo had an amazing engine and kept it simple. They chronically overpaid for kirkez, at best the Nunez of defenders
@SydneyFC MT is a very skillful player great to see him playing again and fit. So glad he escaped Scotland, his time there was an injury plagued disaster. Big thanks to MC for getting this rare talent back on track. His cracker against Argentina at the Olympics highlighted his potential
@simonhill1894@SaintSmithies@RTrbojevich Thank you Simon for the professionalism and integrity you brought to the game over so many years. The chemistry you and Harps made you worthy torchbearers of the legacy of Les and Johnny to Australian football fans for this generation
Best wishes
@VinceRugari@Stick_Beetle Vince - when I try and look dispassionately at our play in Qatar, it was backs to the wall defending and organisation. Definitely results over performance, post Aaron Mooy we have lacked a midfielder to hold the ball, control the tempo and pick a pass.
@bjslowey Spineless performance from a team which on paper had everything to play for. Defence struggled after Hayden Matthews transfer, sacrificing Ryan grant into a central role meant loss of energy and attacking intent down the right flank
@profholden@FinancialReview Excellent article - I wish the wider and more general media would challenge the trump admin and its so-called Economic advisors over this destructive and illogical policy
@VinceRugari Vince - excellent observations, clear consensus result better than performance. However give credit for clinical finishing as we have bemoaned spurned chances in recent times Injuries obviously impacted our defence and ability to play out. Delighted to see Matt Ryan playing well
@_SkyBlueViews Too many attacking midfielders, pseudo del piero not defending
Shame both segacic and polish striker out. Poor patty wood all endeavour but lacking in finesse and football nous- take the point and accept the bollocking from the gaffer
@_SkyBlueViews Your observations are spot on - more balance required. Costa is great on the ball but is too casual tracking back, not putting in the hard yards. Defending on 2 of WU goals was akin to the 3 stooges
Was a shame a dynamic breakthrough performance by Segacic was lost in the chaos
@realDonaldTrump Just a bunch of simplistic slogans without any policy or thought on how to solve complex problems
Isolationism and nationalism is not good for the US or the world
@Socceroos Big news - Mancini gone as Saudi coach. Two sides to the news world class coach but will the Saudis respond positively to the change. This is a massive opportunity for Socceroos to build on momentum and chase direct qualification. Up to the country and fans to support the team
@joeylynchy@ESPNAusNZ@ESPNAsia Lack of variety or creativity from the many corners we enjoyed, just long aimless balls without pace to the back post. No change in formation to seize the initiative Irvine was full of running in the 1st half was invisible 2nd half. Why rowles for the last 10, should be back 3
very disappointing - slow turgid play, 3 hardworking midfielders but lacking creative linchpin. With continuity of tactics, coach and players, team should be more fluid, Australian fans deserve more.
@VinceRugari@FundFooty Vince who do you think would be the best media partner for the A-Leagues and can you see a path to achieving it? If not what is the best achievable scenario. Fans need a weekly review show and pundit analysis packaging up news player interviews etc like the other codes
@ghana3032 Remember the olyroos are overseas at the moment, thus the options are more limited for Arnie
As an avid Syd FC watcher, fair to say JC-P as been outstanding at left back, clearly much better defender than JK and confidence growing on the ball
@TheMatildas@CarpenterEllie@rebelsport Mature performance from the whole team, built pressure and the goals came. Caitlin Foord is the ace in our pack, exciting to enjoy Mary F blossoming on the world stage. Awesome to see Ellie back showing she is stronger in mind body and spirit after the World Cup. Bravo Matildas
@teopellizzeri@_SkyBlueViews It did feel old Skool backs to the wall underdog approach. Discussion should be do we have the players to be more expansive, or is it philosophy of the coach holding us back
After 4 -5 years of continuity of coaching infrastructure I had hoped for more fluency
