Still not drinking. Need to rest more but also need to work. Really ill yesterday... 2 hour nosebleed which usually means Iโm run down. Resting today.
Itโs only when you stop drinking that you see how sick you have been and how tortured by this Dis Ease. Three weeks tomorrow and because I accept I am allergic to alcohol I will never drink again providing I remind myself every day.
Not drinking still but life feels too real and not sure Iโm enjoying being sober either. I know this is Derek my addiction voice but itโs getting louder!
Sober....Knackered....Nauseous...nightsweats...really angry about Windrush...hopeful and looking forward to feeling a lot better so we can follow our next chapter of dreams.
At the moment not drinking is fine. Not because itโs easy but because my body has become severely allergic to it. I felt poisoned the last time I drank and like a dodgy meal it has put me off. Need to meditate and hold this feeling. Have a good day โ๏ธ
@candelight0418 Hi Kim. No, not in any particular program but have been to rehab and as meetings so am using those skills but find Buddhism the best source through meditation. Best wishes with your own recovery x
Not writing much but not drinking. Trying not too feel too sad about the Windrush debacle and other terrible things in the world without using drink. Working hard, enjoying dog walks and beautiful scenery. Not able to eat much and fall asleep at 8pm. Am Grateful.
Day 4 and feeling grateful to be out of pain. I now accept that my liver canโt drink any more. I often wondered how someone who loves sweet stuff copes when they become diabetic and now I know. Think acceptance with gratitude is the key.
Day 3 and feeling so sore. My liver feels stretched, back and stomach ache and head painful with heavy thoughts. However, feeling grateful for another day with my great partner and this paradise scenery we live in.
The friend that sponsors me says that after 3 months of not drinking I will feel so much better. Thatโs the time it takes for the liver to stop producing alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH). the enzyme for breaking alcohol down. Gotta be worth a go. So counter reset. Here goes day 2.
Had a lovely visit with friends and to be honest thoroughly enjoyed drinking a bottle of wine. Difficult to stop yesterday, had 2 pints, but am at parents so will be sober today.
If Iโm not writing, Iโm probably drinking. Stupidly thought I could control my drinking. One day on, one off. Ecstatic evening watching the sunset over our Mountain View with a bottle of wine after 3 pints on the beach. My compromised liver said otherwise. Was sick all night ๐
